REBUILDING AFTER KATRINA
KTB is very proud to have been a part of this project because it allowed us to see many smiling children’s faces. With funding from a grant to rebuild the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, we installed over 200 play structures and other playground equipment at 105 different childcare facilities across the entire MS Gulf Coast.
“Receiving Social Services Block Grant funds for hurricane recovery from the Miss Department of Human Services, Office for Children and Youth to replace playgrounds destroyed by Hurricane Katrina was a wonderful opportunity for the Early Childhood Institute (ECI) at Mississippi State University. The ECI staff knew it would take an efficient team to make it happen. Kenneth Thompson provided the experience and expertise in construction needed to complete the project to everyone’s satisfaction. If given the opportunity again, ECI would certainly partner with KTB for future projects.”
